Objection made to pub demolition
Chris Renton, of Flixborough, suggested to the council that the village needs a pub for community use and not "yet another lot of rabbit hutches." The intention is to demolish the entire property and the applicant says the site will be left secure and
A DANGER dog is terrorising pets in a Bradford suburb and residents say they now fear for the safety of their children. The animal, thought to be a cross between an Alsatian and a Japanese Akita, is reported to have killed two rabbits and two guinea pigs since Monday, also attacking a cat in Wellington Street, Allerton. Police said they have tried to locate the dog but it was still on the loose last night. Alison Naylor, of Wellington Street, had her two pet Lionhead lop rabbits mauled by the dog early on Tuesday. "The hutch was lying on its front, and I could see the dog had taken the rabbits, so I rang the police straightaway," she said. They were show rabbits and I only got them as a Christmas present. "I've had rabbits before, but never Lionhead lops, I've always dreamed of having them. "My 21-month year old son has said to me 'doggy got rabbit', he is really upset. Mrs Naylor said she had sent pictures of the dog to Leytop and Allerton Primary Schools, after reports the dog had been seen in the playground of Leytop School on Tuesday morning. "We've never seen the dog on the street before, but the police told us it had caused quite a lot of trouble in the area, and people have said it is out roaming all the time," she said. "This dog needs to be caught, as people need to be able to feel safe. Victoria Young, also of Wellington Street, said she had received a text from her friend and neighbour whose two guinea pigs had been attacked at about 10am on Monday. She also said she stopped a cat getting attacked in the street on Monday afternoon. "It just shook it again and again, so I started screaming and running up the road," she said. "None of us are letting our children play out on the street, we're all shocked and worried, it's not worth the risk. "You just don't know what that dog is capable of. ". Sergeant Al Milner, of the Bradford West Area Neighbourhood Team, said: "Police were called to Wellington Street in Allerton at about 10. 10am on Monday, February 9, following reports of an... "Inquiries are continuing into this matter, and at this time the dog has not yet been traced.
